First FF mirrorless camera

Well. Finally a full frame mirrorless digital camera! 24 Mpixel sensor (24x36 mm) no reflex. Why choose it? Personally I've choose this camera because is possible to use any lenses, also the oldest glasses. But not only for this. This camera has an excellent electronic viewfinder, is lightweight, has a orientable monitor and the price is rather low. All this things are true and on the field will show very good. Sony A7 has a good dynamic range and is enough fast. But there are also some defects. First: if you use it on tripod, the screw connection is very poor, take attention! Second: the battery life is scarce and is better to have two (or three..) batteries in the bag. There isn't a flash on board (if you want to use the flash in fill-in mode).

For macrophotography, the focusing with live view on the orientable monitor is very comfortable on the field. I've used many lens on this camera. Nikon and Zeiss ZF, Leica R and M. All lenses was attached at the camera with Novoflex adapters. For the heavier glasses it's strongly recommended to use the Novoflex adapter collar! Unfortunately, as mentioned, the fastening screw is mediocre and you have to pay attention to the danger of camera shake.

Currently I'm very satisfied by coupling with Nikkor micro 55/3.5 (compensating model) and with Leica Elmarit-R 60mm. This setup is very light and with excellent quality.

My opinion ( 1 Poor - 5 Excellent )

Quality on field:

(Tested with Nikon, Zeiss and Leica lens)

Mechanical:

(Fair quality construction and ergonomics)

Price/Performance:

(Good price for a full frame camera)
